Customized Support Services

Every family's experience with dementia looks a little different, so support should too. Whether you need a place to start, hands-on help staying connected day to day, or a plan built specifically around your loved one, Together Still meets you where you are, from one-time sessions to ongoing coaching to tools you can use on your own. Sessions are available in-home throughout the DMV, or virtually anywhere.

New Diagnosis: Now What?

$175

Getting a dementia diagnosis, for yourself or someone you love — can leave you with more questions than answers. This gentle, practical session is designed for families in that exact moment: newly diagnosed, and not sure what comes next.

Together, we'll walk through what a dementia diagnosis actually means, what to realistically expect in the months ahead, and how to start having honest, age-appropriate conversations with the people in your life: your loved one, your kids, your extended family. We'll also cover the first concrete steps worth taking now, from simple home and safety considerations to the kind of day-to-day communication techniques that can ease tension and preserve connection as things change.

This isn't about covering everything at once. It's about leaving with a clear, manageable starting point, so you feel steadier walking out than you did walking in, and you know what to focus on first.

You'll come away with:

  • A clear, plain-language understanding of what to expect in the early stages

  • Guidance for starting the conversation, with yourself, your loved one, and your family

  • A short list of practical first steps you can take this week

  • A calmer, more confident starting point for whatever comes next

  • A follow up summary of the appointment with activity suggestions, communication tips, and practical information on Dementia.

No prior knowledge needed, just come with your questions.

The Personalized Connection Plan

Starting at $350

No two people with dementia are the same — so a generic activity list only goes so far. The Personalized Connection Plan is a custom roadmap built specifically around your loved one: their history, their personality, what still brings them joy, and where they are right now.

It starts with a conversation — in-home or virtual — where we talk through their abilities, interests, daily rhythms, and the moments that already tend to go well (and the ones that don't). From there, I put together a written plan made just for them: activities matched to their ability level and interests, guidance on the best times and settings to try them, communication tips specific to how they respond best, and a simple weekly rhythm so you're not starting from scratch every day.

A few weeks in, we check back in together and adjust the plan as things change — because what works today may need to shift next month, and that's normal, not a setback.

This isn't a checklist. It's a plan built around one specific person you love, so you can spend less time guessing and more time actually connecting.

Talking to Your Loved One: Communicating with Confidence

$150

A practical session on simple, validation-based communication techniques that ease everyday conversations, reduce frustration on both sides, and open up more moments of real connection.

As dementia progresses, the instinct to correct, remind, or reason with someone often backfires — even when you're right, it can leave both of you feeling frustrated, defensive, or shut down. This session introduces a different approach: validation-based communication, sometimes called "reality entering," which meets your loved one where they are instead of pulling them back to where you think they should be.

We'll walk through what this looks like in real, everyday moments — repeated questions, mistaken memories, disagreements about what's true — and practice simple phrases and reframes you can start using right away. You'll leave with language that actually works for the situations you're facing at home, not just theory.

This isn't about getting it perfect. It's about reducing the number of hard moments in your day, and making more room for the good ones.

You'll come away with:

  • An understanding of why correcting and reasoning often make things harder, not easier

  • Concrete phrases and reframes you can use immediately

  • A calmer, more confident way to handle repeated questions and disagreements

  • More moments of connection, with less friction along the way

No prior experience needed — just come with the situations you're currently navigating.

Home Safety & Comfort Assessment

$125

An in-home visit where I walk through the house room by room with you, spotting safety risks and comfort opportunities specific to your loved one's needs, and leaving you with a clear, prioritized plan for what to change first.

What's included:

  1. A room-by-room walkthrough, covering entryways, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living areas, stairs, and outdoor spaces, looking at the same categories covered in your Home, Made Safe guide (fall risks, wandering risks, lighting, contrast, clutter, and comfort).

  2. In-the-moment conversation, not just a checklist. I'll explain why something matters as we go, so you understand the reasoning, not just the recommendation.

  3. A written summary after the visit, organized by "highest priority" and "also worth doing," so you know exactly where to start and what can wait.

  4. Simple, low-cost solutions first. The goal is the smallest adjustment that solves the risk, not a full renovation.

Learn-Along Activity Session

Starting at $125

A hands-on, in-home session where I bring a ready-to-go activity (painting, cooking, floral arranging, a cognitive game, and similar) and lead it with you and your loved one together. As we go, I'm modeling how to adapt the activity in the moment, how to communicate, and how to handle whatever comes up, so you walk away able to do it yourself next time, not just having watched me do it once.

What's included:

  1. A pre-visit conversation (brief, could be a quick call or a few questions on booking) to understand your loved one's interests and ability level, so the activity is chosen well.

  2. The activity itself, led together, typically 30 to 45 minutes, using materials I bring.

  3. In-the-moment coaching, woven into the session rather than separated out, things like:

    • How to adjust the activity if it's too hard or too easy

    • What to say (and what to avoid saying) if frustration or confusion comes up

    • How to read energy and know when to wind down or shift gears

  4. A short debrief at the end, where we talk through what worked, what to try next, and how to run something similar on your own.

  5. A simple take-home reference (a one-page recap of the activity and a few adaptation tips) so you're not relying on memory alone.

Just-for-Them Activity Session

Starting at $75

A hands-on, in-home session where I lead an activity (painting, cooking, floral arranging, a cognitive game, and similar) directly with your loved one. No coaching, no debrief, just quality time and engagement for them, and a bit of a breather for you.

What's included:

  1. A brief pre-visit conversation (quick call or a few booking questions) to understand interests and ability level, so the activity is a good fit.

  2. The activity itself, led one-on-one with your loved one, typically 45 to 60 minutes.

  3. A short wrap-up note for you afterward (how it went, what they responded well to), so you're kept in the loop without needing to be present the whole time.
